Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel at 8:30 AM. We'll begin our tour in the historic Sultanahmet district, home to many of Istanbul's most famous sites.
First, we'll visit the Hagia Sophia, a stunning example of Byzantine architecture that has served as a church, mosque, and now, a museum. Learn about its rich history from your knowledgeable guide.
Next, we'll walk to the nearby Blue Mosque, known for its beautiful blue Iznik tiles. As it's still a functioning mosque, we'll have the opportunity to observe and learn about Islamic practices.
Our third stop will be the Topkapi Palace, where we'll explore the lush courtyards and intricate rooms once used by Ottoman sultans. Don't forget to visit the treasury to see an impressive collection of jewels and artifacts.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, where you can try traditional Turkish dishes.
After lunch, we'll visit the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. Here, you'll have time to shop for souvenirs, spices, and Turkish delight.
We'll end our day exploring the atmospheric Basilica Cistern, walking on raised platforms above the water as we learn about its historical importance to Istanbul.
The tour will wrap up around 5:30 PM, and we'll drop you back at your hotel.
